 Women when they get sick produce more lymphocytes; The immune system cells that fight against pathogenic microbes. 

This is due to the peculiarities of the hormonal background namely the female sex hormone estrogen which affect the synthesis of lymphocytes. 

That's why women carry infectious diseases including cold easier and recover faster than men.
